I was not able to save PDFs in Adobe Illustrator, due to some ‘unknown error’ - *bummer*. Luckily, the great and all knowing Internet had a solution:

Basically, I think if you have Acrobat Reader installed (perhaps any version, though I had , you just copy the contents of the folder “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Resource\CMap” to “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts\Reqrd\CMaps” (You will likely need to create the CMaps folder) and wahlah (voila) you can save in PDF!
